One of my fanciful plans is to walk the length of the Kennet & Avon Canal. Here's some photos from the stretch between Aldermastson and the end - where it joins the Thames in Reading.
My start point |
The whole canal |
The stretch I walked today |
Padworth Lock |
Bridge & Weir |
This is what canal side walks are all about ! |
Lock |
It's also a national cycle route |
A nice bridge |
Signpost |
Crossing from north side to south side |
Wildlife |
Canalside life |
Wouldn't it be nice to live here |
Pretty Weir ! |
The water works in the background |
Swan |
Going under the A33 |
We must be nearing Reading - the graffiti is getting worse |
Entering Reading proper |
A few years later, I re-walked this stretch as part of a longer sponsored walk. Click here for details.
