The first of my Saturday walks was Ramble 11 from "Rambling for Pleasure around Reading - First Series". It was a nice day in the middle of a very wet winter. As you'll see, I hadn't really thought that through properly !
Today's Walk |
Setting off from the end of City Road |
Down through the woods |
The Pigeon Tower |
Looking through |
Up close |
Now it's starting to get muddy |
It took some time to cross this mini-lake ! |
About to cross the motorway |
Id' driven under a hundred times, but this was my first time walking over this bridge |
The tree felling had really churned up this path |
That's more like it ! |
The footpath completely submerged. |
Up the ramp to the A340 |
Looking back along the M4 |
More flooding of the footpath |
Out of the woods |
A last style |
Sulham Church |
The last 'puddle' to cross before getting back to tarmac ! |
Total time - about 1 hour 50 minutes (including slight navigation error) !
Steps : 17,892 - over the whole day.
