Yorkshire Dales - Keld to Muker (including Pennine Way)

While in the Yorkshire Dales, I wanted to get at least one good walk in, and selected Keld to Muker, going down Swaledale. By accident we ended up doing the Pennine Way, rather than the valley bottom walk I'd originally planned.  I also noticed that technically we walked a bit of the coast to coast !

A choice of routes
In the end, we did the following ...

  • Pennine Way to Kisdon Farm
  • Corpse Way to Muker
  • Hartlakes and Ivelet Side, including Coast to Coast back to Keld

Our actual route - as recorded by Viewranger.

A choice of routes.
Keld Countryside and Heritage Center
Onto the Pennine Way !
Our first waterfall - East Gill
I take a detour to see more waterfalls, while Val continues on along the Pennine Way
Along the ragged rocks the ragger walker walked
I don't think I'll swing across
Two waterfalls for the price of one ! Kisdon Force
Back on the main path
A misty day
Sheep !
We'll walk back across that gulley on the far bank later
Trying to catch back up with Val
Caught back up with Val - and a view down Swaledale
Proof we're on the Pennine Way
Only 2 miles !  It seemed longer.
Muker ! Time for a cup of tea (and wool shopping !)
Close up of the sheep on the roof
Back to the car - through the meadows
Crossing the Swale
As seen from the other side of the valley
Didn't expect to find this here !
Nearly Back
One final waterfall, Hoggarts Leap, east of where we parked the car.
